These classic maitri yoga retreats take place twice a year in Bali at the beautiful Silversand Villa at Kedungu Beach, just a few minutes drive from famous temple Tanah Lot. For 5 days in November and May we gather together to practise, rest, eat clean and connect.  

We focus on a holistic approach to yoga so we combine asana (postures) to move the body releasing tension, with breathing techniques to regulate the emotional body and mantra chanting to calm and focus the mind. We are situated right near the beautiful Tabanan beach so mindful walks (particularly stunning at sunset) to just take time to be by the ocean is so healing. These retreats are very relaxed. We are flexible and adaptable depending on the needs of the group and individuals.

The Venue

SILVERSAND VILLA consists of two connected luxury villas in a verdant garden. We have a spacious dining and sitting area with an open kitchen. The yoga space looks out to the pool and garden. Yoga classes and sunrise meditation is also held on the rooftop with spectacular views of the surrounding rice fields and the ocean.


There are four spacious bedrooms in the villa that are shared by the retreat
participants. Two bedrooms on the ground floor level each have two single 
beds. The  upstairs bedroom suites have three single beds and a sitting area.

Food & Replenishment

We are serving locally sourced, clean, vegetarian food - a nice mix of local
Balinese, Asian and Western plant based dishes. Our meals and snacks 
include lot's of goodies like nuts, seeds, fresh tropical fruit and superfoods 
and as many organic vegetables we can find. We'll have snacks like smoothies
/ smoothie bowls, chia puddings, and energy balls every day. Apart from
bottled water there will be fresh young coconuts, golden turmeric tea, chai tea,
local coffee & tea, Arabica coffee and English Tea, herbal teas and fresh fruit
water or juice.

Getting There

Fly to Denpasar International Airport Ngurah Rai.
Arrival day is always a Monday, check in anytime after 2pm. Departure any time after breakfast on Saturday. 
We will be providing supper on Monday evening and yoga and breakfast on Saturday morning.
We can arrange airport transfers (at extra cost) if you let us know your flight details. If they coincide with another arrival we will endeavor to share the cost between you. 

Retreat Schedule

There will be 2 hatha yoga classes a day, a big breakfast, a light lunch buffet, healthy snacks & smoothies available and a hearty dinner. 


In addition we will practise pranayama (breathing) to calm the mind as well as a daily sunrise meditation. 

The schedule is not set in stone and is subject to how we are all feeling, what we need and what works each day. This is part of the journey and the experience and helps each of us to practise the disciplines of flexibility and open mindedness.
